SmokedRight

Affiliate Disclosure

SmokedRight participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you buy something on Amazon after clicking one of our links, we earn a small commission. It never costs you anything extra.

What that means in plain English

On some of our calculator pages, you will find a small block below the tool titled "Recommended gear" or similar. That block contains three suggestions: a thermometer, a smoker, a bag of wood chunks, or another piece of BBQ gear that we would actually recommend to a friend cooking the same cut.

Each of those items is a link to Amazon. If you click the link and end up buying anything on Amazon within 24 hours (not necessarily the item we linked), Amazon pays SmokedRight a percentage of the sale. This commission is what funds the site now that the calculators are getting real traffic.

The prices you pay are the same whether you click our link or search Amazon directly. There is no upcharge, no coupon lost, no dark pattern.

How we choose the products

We only recommend gear that fits one of these criteria:

Bestsellers in the BBQ smoking category with strong long-term ratings, tools we or a pitmaster friend actually own and use, or reference products that pair naturally with what the calculator on that page is calculating (thermometers on time calculators, wood chunks on wood guides, and so on).

We do not recommend fringe products, drop-shipped generics, or anything we have not personally seen used at a cook. If we would not tell a buddy at a competition to buy it, it does not go on the page.

What we do not do

We do not write "best smoker 2026" listicles designed to trap search intent. We do not fill the top of pages with fake reviews. We do not use cloaked or shortened links to hide the destination. We do not put affiliate links between a calculator's input and its result: the tool works first, gear suggestions come after. If you turn off images or use an ad blocker, the calculator still works exactly the same.

Where the money goes

SmokedRight is built and maintained by one independent developer. Amazon commissions cover domain and hosting costs, occasional updates to the calculators, and time spent researching new tools to build. Nothing more.

Your questions or concerns

If a specific product recommendation seems wrong to you, or if a link is broken, please reach out through the About page. We would rather hear it than let a bad recommendation stand.
